Due South of Gila Bend, Arizona, and just a few miles from the Mexican border, lies Organ Pipe. Unlike the Saguaro cactus which produce arms in varied shapes and direction, the Organ Pipe variety are relatively straight stalks, generally slimmer, but still grow to significant heights. The recently posted Saguaro images were photographed just up the road directly behind me. The topographical East/West line that separates the Mohave and Sonoran deserts is close by, and the Sonoran drops deep into Mexico, just a few miles down the road, past this monument.
