Back then, most families were just spread out within a city or town, and frequently within blocks of one another. Being the first Grandson on both sides of our family, I had dozens of cousins to pose for me while I was studying photography. This is natural light through a very large window, and if you look close it's not very attractive with those catchlights. Today it's easy to fix, but many hours work or impossible back then depending on film size. Natural light is great, and white sheers make it even better.No direct sunlight though, and North light is best.
