It's still 1955 and the Circus has just arrived in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It will soon be dark, but the supports and cables are almost ready to raise the Big Top (tent) with the aid of the show's biggest performer. The silhouette wasn't my initial intention, and flash would only cover a few feet. I just took a meter reading and used the smallest lens opening useable in the fading light.... and that's where I learned about silhouettes.There's a moral here... don't be afraid to shoot even if you don't know what you're doing.
