This baby Red Shoulder Hawk was my guest for a long weekend. I found him on the ground, well back in the woods. He let me check his wings and legs for damage without incident. Couldn't find any damage and took him home and made a nest for him in a large box. I fed him night crawlers and raw beef, and his table manners were atrocious. Being a holiday weekend, it was Tuesday before I located a place that knew what to do, and promptly took him back to where I found him.Long story short, he was gone when I went back later, but I found him a few days later, making short flights from one tree to another with his parents circling above.
