Talk about oldies, this Pub/Inn in downtown Nottingham, England has been there since 1189 AD, and lays claim to being the oldest such business in England. I spent 1953 at a not too distant airfield, and spent some time in this Pub,and another named Towers across the street, though Ye Olde Trip was unique. It doesn't just go back to that massive rock face. It extends deep into that rock face as a cave, and directly under Nottingham Castle. It was strictly candle lit in the cavern section. I believe there are a few other pubs throughout England that lay claim to being the oldest, though I've never heard of or visited one with the ambience of The Trip.
