when the tide goes out on cape cod bay it exposes almost half a mile of mud flats... boats that floated on a high tide now rest on sand... actually it's a combination of sand and silt and when you walk out on the flats it can be a little slimy and it squishes between your toes... kids love it... and so do I. ;-))
