I took this last summer during an excursion downcape to truro... there has been a lighthouse at this location since 1797, though this one was built in 1857... it's the most powerful lighthouse on the new england coast and can be seen 30 miles out to sea... a few years ago the structure was moved intact 550 feet away from the edge of the cliff because of beach erosion... (cape cod, massachusetts)
