More detail explanation here on #1 shot at f5.6 1/800th sec. with a 18-135 at 135mm, center weight metering if anyone was interested of course. All situations are different and not all would apply but close...to get that dark moody look. I'll carry this out in a series maybe to show the different stages as the sun came up and list the Exfile settings as they changed. the fog really does have a major effect to the over all shot. there's four birds here in the distance, one most obvious below the sun, three more above it, that i can see) nonetheless pretty cool and something I doubt I could repeat if i wanted to.

again, straight from the card. Whats most interesting is the color of the sun here. which is why I said I doubt a repeat is possible. did the image sensor detect something like a solar flare or heat difference? I seriously doubt it and the focus dots were not on the sun it self, or that would explain it more. to be totally honest I'm not sure. The best theory I can come up with is the fog that was in front of it cause the yellow top half and maybe that ban in the middle from WB. if someone does know why? list an explanation for us all below in the comments. would be most interesting.

Enjoy :)
