Down cactus-lined Hwy. 395 (California) there's this road to an old mining town called "Rovana," and if you go past the town about 10 miles up a steep grade into a canyon, there's this Sierra pass, a trailhead, a nice little creek, and lots of wildflowers. You'd never know it from the desert you just drove in from.
