This was a whopper - almost 16" across. This is a type of hardy hibiscus as opposed to the tropical hibiscus we usually see. This comes in a variety of reds, pinks and whites and usually grows about 9" across. It is related to Rose of Sharon and is sometimes called Plate Hibiscus. I was afraid the red might be blown out but the new Nikon handled it very well.
