Since our weather retreated back to winter I'm posting a great winter blooming houseplant. The rainbow effect came from a shiny metallic surface to my left that reflected other colors into the shot. I was upset at first but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. {Clivia belongs to the lily family, the same family as amaryllis. Each colorful clivia flower is similar in shape to, but much smaller than, the larger trumpet-shaped amaryllis flower. Clivia flowers cluster together to form large conspicuous flower heads.
