Every Wednesday from June through October a small street in the downtown section of the village where I live becomes a farmer's market. Neighbors mingle, kids run through with skateboards and dogs also abound. The farmers come from Michigan, Wisconsin and of course Illinois. I think this is a wonderful alternative use for a street and is my entry in the contest.
