I'm posting a couple more shots from my prairie visit today. This first one is a form of wild sedum. It grows underneath taller prairie plants as it is only 1-1.5" tall. They have been transplanting it to the roof of the conservation building at the preserve to provide natural cooling. It's a slow process - they have about 2/3 of the roof covered now.
