I'm fascinated by Gingko leaves in autumn - they are shaped like no other tree's leaves. The Gingko, also called the Maidenhair tree, is known as a living fossil as they are some of the oldest trees on the planet and they have no tree relatives - they are singular and unique. We have only one on the entire 18 acres of our condo property and it's in front of the building where I live. I assume the only reason it's here is because this property used to be a former tree nursery and it was left. I'm glad it was.
