On one of my errands recently, I drove by a large Mexican restaurant surprised to see it had closed during the winter and was now quite abandoned. There was a low stone wall in front and blooming with carefree abandon all along the wall were these beautiful clematis. Normally I see clematis in June around here but this was just about a week ago and these were at peak bloom. No one is caring for them or watering them but they are thriving in our cooler wetter summer. Since no restaurant patrons see their beauty I felt obligated to share it with others.
