Kristallnacht - The Night of Broken Glass. The night of November 9, 1938, on which the Nazis coordinated an attack on Jewish people and their property in Germany, Austria, and the Sudetenland. I felt it appropriate to post this picture today as my visit to this museum was quite moving. The building is in two parts - the dark part details the horrific acts perpetrated by the Nazis during WWII. The white part is the details of what came after WWII and the development of Israel. Out of the darkness and into the light. The two large towers represent the ovens of Auschwitz and other concentration camps. This is a very different and dark post for me but after last night's devastating election results it reflects my mood. That my country could elect such a man, as they did, depresses my spirit in untold ways.
