Developed in 1926 in California by a breeder who crossed two existing varieties of begonia. The colors range from red through pinks to white and the leaves have a frosted or spotted pattern and a red underside. They are used year round as houseplants but can be grown outdoors in a shaded area. I used to grow these in my college dorm room for a spot of color.
