This is a flowering plant native to western North America, found in coastal hills and mountains from British Columbia south to the San Francisco Bay Area. It's botanical name is Clarkia Amoena and it is sometimes called "Farewell to Spring". It reminds me a bit of azalea - I captured it in a greenhouse of a local garden center.
