. . cars were built piece by piece with parts laid out on the floor surrounding the workers and it took over 12 hours to build a car. But Henry Ford had an idea for a moving assembly line and on December 1, 1913 it became a reality and the world's first moving assembly line became operational. Cars now took only slightly over 2 hours to build thus making owning a car a reality for everyone. This is a 1936 Deluxe Ford Coupe - it came with a trunk instead of a rumble seat so more a car for the family.
