This is one of the geraniums I'm growing this summer - it is the variety Calliope and the color is my title. This is a crossbred geranium mixing the best characteristics of ivy geraniums and zonal geraniums.It was over 15 years in development and I grew a different color last year and was very impressed with it. So much so I sought it out for this year. It has a perfectly rounded mounding shape and blooms profusely. I had blooms on mine last year through October. I've gone with only geraniums this year as I expect it to be hot and dry and they are not fussy about watering. I have three 16" pots each with a huge geranium in it - 2 are this color and the third is the color I had last year - deep magenta. My foofy for this Friday.
