I'm posting this in memory of the 7 people killed yesterday while watching a 4th of JULY parade in Highland Park IL. This has hit very close to home for me - I live only a few miles from Highland Park. My dentist is there, I buy my cars there and take them in for service. The very street seen in all the news photos I've walked down many times and have shopped in many of the shops including the one who's roof was used by the gunman. I frequent a grocery store there regularly - it was used by hundreds of people to shelter yesterday. I despise what is happening in my country and the ridiculous interpretation that has been given to the 2nd amendment of the constitution that allows assault weapons to be purchased at will. I am sad to say we are no longer a great country or a model for other countries - we are but a shadow of our former self divided by partisan politics and rampant racism. It is a very, very sad day.
