Duranta is a genus of flowering plants in the verbena family. It contains 17 species of shrubs and vine-like small trees that are native from southern Florida to Mexico and South America. They are commonly cultivated as hedges and ornamental plants. They are considered a pest in Australia and their yellow fruit is poisonous to most animals but not birds. They are used as an annual patio plant in my area - I shot this on a friend's patio. My foofy for this 1st Friday of Fall.
