Day 1, Mile 10 of my Sierra Nevada backpacking trip, About 2 miles down from where I took my last picture (check out my gallery!), the forest begins to return at these lower elevations but is not dense enough to obstruct views of the surrounding mountains. In spring, this stream would be flowing much more fiercely. The Glacier Divide towers in the distance.
