Ahh, finally! No more exams for the next 3 weeks! What joy. Anyway, I finally got my hands on the crackle var, and this is what came out. Not sure about the gradient: something feels wrong; but nothing else I tried works as well. Edit: the thick brownish-reddish frame is part of the fractal! :) Edit 2: Oops, sorry about the square size!
