if i have an image that is say 633 by 645 pixels, how do i re-size it to a wallpaper size that can be uploaded to this website? i've tried stretching it but it just comes out looking awful and i wish to retain the original clarity of the image.
Most computer Photo programs have a resize on them. It should be under Image Listed as image resize. But sometimes this doesn’t work do to the resolution of the image is pour. But you can drag and drop it to a new larger image frame and that usually does the trick. It makes image larger and in general keeps it's resolution.
Caedes accepts 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x860, 1240x1024 and 1600x1200 resolutions. If your picture is 633 large:
1) Resize it at 640 (with a min lost of quality). Then, you'll have a 640x652 size picture.
2) Crop the vertical dimension at 480. Then, you'll have a 640x480 size picture.
You can make that with Photo programs like Photoshop (the best), or PaintShopPro (available on the web) and many other programs
Don't forget the members of caedes like to upload high sizes (1280x1024 or more)
Good luck :-)
How do I make a personal icon that is 60x60 and 5K? Have tried to re-size in photoshop. Can get the 60c60 dimensions but get an 11K at 72 resolution? How do I actually do this?
Shutterbug: I found that when I made my last icon (in PS), the file size was too large (about 10 kb from memory). It was in JPG format. I opened it with MS paint and saved it as a JPG again, and it's file size was reduced to 4kb, no change in quality. I have no idea why. Computers do stupid things sometimes; but maybe that would work for you too...
make the image at either a 1to1 or start at the design at 30 % larger the reduce to the size you actualy need, then as you save to file reduce size or in this case kilibit size under the JPG save minue
Sam: *.jpg format are multiple. If you are working with Photoshop, you can save a picture in 1 -> 12 quality. With "bad" softwares like MS paint, you've no choice and the soft choose a medium quality... :-/
Also every time you re-save to JPG the quality drops.
The best way is to design is in tiff; it's quality never changes. then convert to JPG and reduce the size under the JPG minue
