Anyone fancy a 160 megapixel camera?

"What few thought possible has now come true: wide-format digital photography. With a resolution of 7,500 pixels vertically and 21,250 pixels horizontally this camera creates a 160 million pixel image."

It's a scan back sensor camera and they are showing photo examples of windsurfers in action.

No it’s not compact Noah. I wouldn’t pay that much for any camera either.

But why stop with 160Megapixel? There is a gigapixel camera ( check out the gigapxl.org project site for some awesome photos and description of the camera. Btw, the camera designer is one of the designers of the Hubble telescope cameras.)

Gigapxl cameras take a lot of computer cycles to process too. Unless you have access to NASA's or Langley's brute force computers its going to take days to process a couple of photos ;-)

I just had a thought...how long will it be before a conversation like this is the inspiration for chuckles...not unlike the newness of color TV or those newfangled automobiles? i give it 10-15 years

lately, i've fallen horribly behind in my thanks and comments. I'll catch up, but until I do, please know all your kind words are greatly appreciated.
