I have been noticing some swimsuit ads on this site. I know most of us love seeing that but I am aware of children that find their desktop images through this site and some of these pictures I wouldn't want my children to see... yet. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Well I'm sure Caedes will take a look into the ad campaign that's generating this type of ad. It might be helpful if you could give information about the site advertised e.g. URL, product name or whatever other data. That should make it easier to track down.

Yes more details would be great. Another member contacted me about this yesterday. I looked through all the ads that I know have appeared on the site and could find nothing.

I logged out and just kept refreshing...I assume its text ads, as that's all I got on the right. Unfortunately I found no swimsuit ad, but I did find...

Ads by Yahoo!

Christmas Lingerie Desktop Background
Decorate your PC for the holidays. Get free Christmas scenes, Santa,
www.screensavers.com

Again, unfortunately I found no scantly clothed Christmas elves but then again I didn't really poke around much on the site...it just takes you to the main page, not "Christmas Lingerie" wallpapers. ~darn~

Again, I saw no picture ads, only text Yahoo! ads on the right column.

Picture Purrrfect . A purrrfect world is what we all want, but, seems too unobtainable. If I've viewed and commented on your post, and you liked my remarks then NO THANKS is needed...just getting to see your wonderful work is thanks enough for me!! Also BIG thanks to all who check out my work!! I appreciate any and all comments & feedback!!

but arnt yahoo/google ads random (based on content of site)? So woulent it be hard to take away the ads you dont want?

Unless you took the words "wallpaper" "swimsuit" etc etc, off the site? >_>

I don't think it is the text ads that they are talking about.

Wait...are we talking about the ads on the right hand side of the website? Arnt those things based on the content of the site?

...or are we on different pages?

The ads on the right hand side are not always text ads. They show a very limited number of image-based ads there per person per day (about 4).

i think i'd be more offended if a woman showed me her ankle, than if she attempted to personify carmen electra.... wait, um that isnt what you asked, is it? oh well...nevermind ;-)

I think i found the ad in question. It is a vonage ad with the little phone hanging between a scantily clad lady's chest. Here is where the link takes you. You can also see the picture in question there aswell.

hmmm, somewhat racy, but all of those outfits can be seen in public.. seems like a slight overreaction...

I just want to inform those who were concerned: I found the source of the ads that you mentioned and have blocked them. It turns out the ads were related to online dating. You shouldn't see them any more though.

Milo thought that the ads were for vonage, but I think the original ads that started this were for "True.com" dating service. The changes I made have probably blocked the vonage ads as well.
