P&S camera

Hi all! I am going o purchase a P&S camera to supplement my Lumix FZ. I am travelling soon &cannot take my big Panasonic due to carry-on restriction. I will have the laptop & my purse :), so I am at my limit. I really don't want to exceed $200 (USD) since I have a great camera already, but neither am I willing to buy just for the sake of having a small, compact one. I am not totally restricted, but would like one that uses SD cards since everything else in our house uses them and this really would help keep cost down. I have read the discussion threads and dpreviews as well as Steves Digicams reviews.
My field is narrowed (I think) to the Canon Axx series, Nikon CoolPix L series, Fujifilm FinePix Fxx series and the one I really want is the Sony CyberShot W50 (uses memory sticks). The memory card isn't a huge deal, but a consideration. Mostly though, I don't want junk images from what I buy. I am not looking for champagne on a kool-aid budget, but something that will give me good, clear solid memories in photo form.
Your help is deeply appreciated. I am open to other ideas as well. ;=)
Having been here almost 3 years, I know where to get some good ideas :~)

well, the camera i had been using all this time was a Fuji Finepix E500, and it was only 4.1 MP... for the money, it seemed ok..so their latest models should do just fine... as for how it would compare to the others, i couldnt say.

lately, i've fallen horribly behind in my thanks and comments. I'll catch up, but until I do, please know all your kind words are greatly appreciated.

why not just get another Lumix but a compact - like a DMC-LZ5, that would fall under budget for you and you'd already be familiar with how they operate.

The Kodak P880 seams to be going at bargain prices these days and they have impressive specifications. 8.3-megapixel. Raw files or jpeg. 24 – 140 mm equivalent lens. Centre weighted, multi pattern and spot metering in a Etc etc. It could be worth a look.

Hi Mimi, I do not know how prices compare over there but I have lways been very happy with my Kodak V550.(5MP) I have recently got a Panasonic FZ7(6MP) which is probably less than your model but between the two of mine I see little difference in picture quality generally, except the Kodak has only 3X digital zoom.
