Why can't I send pms?

Okay, what's going on here? Tonight I tried to send pm's to a few people and nothing happens. First of all when I try to send it the send to box remains blank. So I try to send it anyway only to get the message that that user doesn't exist. I mean, come on! What the heck's going on here?? >=(

well, it isn't just you. i tried, as a test, to send a message from several people's profile pages. the weirdthing, is if yuo select 'message' below someone's name in a thread, that works... oh *geri...you brokeded it...
