I cant get my photos that i have photoshopped onto caedes. ive put some up that havent been altered, but when i try to upload photoshopped ones it becomes a blank screen, anyone know why?
Can you upload one with a note for the mods to visit this discussion? That way one of us can actually see the problem when the image needs to be approved.
um .. the problem is, the image can't be upped in the first place
OK .. let's recap
You've uploaded images before ..
these were "straight" out of the camera ..
the images you are trying to up now are photoshopped
but .. they are the same dimensions as the previous
and they ARE jpegs
(?) .. are your images in 16 bit color mode? ... load your image in PS .. go to IMAGE\MODE .. make sure RGB color and 8 bits is checked
(?) .. are your images in sRGB color profile? .. Load your image in PS .. go to EDIT\COLOR SETTINGS .. check that the first line is sRGB (blah blah blah) ... you may have to use EDIT\CONVERT TO PROFILE to change it (i dunno)
not sure if these two are required by the site .. but they are worth checking .. for now ...
hmmmm .. you didn't just arrive in a spaceship from another planet?
(?) .. could you specify the actual dimensions and filesize?
(?) .. and, when was the last time you re-tried .. could have been just a hiccup in the space\time continuum ... the site, as well as the internet, as a whole, can conspire against you .. well, me, anyways, I don't know about you
ahh .. there you go ... the 27MB is a little suspect .. I would assume for now that THAT is the problem
it is also a little unlikely that it IS in fact a JPEG
do you have Irfanview? ... it will tell you when an image has the wrong extension
right now, my guess would be either a PNG .. or a PSD ... but, even if it is a JPEG you should try and knock the file size down of your "upload copy" ... don't touch your original work
if you load it in PS .. go to the file menu and choose "SAVE FOR WEB" .. it will show you in the bottom left corner exactly what the resulting file size will be ... adjust the "quality" setting from, say, 70 to 50, and see what you get .. you'll also be able to SEE what effect, if any, that adjustment has on your image .. in the preview window
good luck
note: .. choosing "SAVE FOR WEB" will give you the opportunity to choose a destination and name for this "copy" .. it won't harm your "original" .. eh, provided your name and destination are different than the original
I used to often make the mistake of changing the file extension when I saved in Photoshop but forgetting to change the file format in the drop down boxl; ie, I might go to save the image and overwrite a file called "image.jpg" but forget to change the format from PSD (which photoshop always uses by default) to JPG. Therefore even though the image looked like a jpg if you read the filename it was in fact in PSD format; if you tried to open it with photoshop it wouldn't work... the easiest way to spot this was by the filesize as Keifer mentioned, as PSD is always a lot larger than JPG format.
