How many people calibrate their monitors? In the caedes.net gallery and the comments I notice many people think some of my (and others') photos are too bright or have low contrast or bad colour saturation while I find a lot of other photos too dark. Many of them belong to said people. Could it be that I calibrated my monitor wrong (I followed instructions on a site I can't find right now) or do most people simply not calibrate their monitors at all?
Btw, in my experience most LCDs are way too bright and need negative gamma correction, but I may be wrong...
I once had a graphics card go bad on me and smear black text to the left and right .. I had to turn up my brightness to compensate until I could get a new card .. and in doing so, I think I developed a taste for a brighter screen .. it used to be darker and more contrasty
it's always a gamble posting an image that is designed to be "just so" .. because others will, no doubt, see it differently
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.
