I think the camera is SUPERB, but it's launch price in the UK I believe is to be in the region of £600. A little pricey at the moment I think, and sadly they haven't improved the grip to incorporate people with bigger hands. This is the ONLY reason why I won't buy one, and am having to go to the EOS40D instead. Other than the grip issue, I think this camera will put Canon back in front on the entry level DSLR market.
according to the DPreview hands on report the grip has been improved significantly over the older model but they still recommend adding the optional battery grip for people with larger hands. I had one on a 350D a long time back and it transformed it's usability immeasurably.
The sample images on Canon's website aren't too convincing either - detail fine - noise in shadows - not so fine :-)
For the price, if I was going to buy a new Canon, I'd ditch the two MP's and get the 40D. I belong to a group of city photographers, and one member just got one. he loves it.
