Granted, we are all artists in our own ways, however; i'm curious to know..
what kind of positions do we all hold?.. i am actually a prepress technician, cleaning up files before going to press with them, but a creative mind when it comes to photoshop i guess,
how about everyone else? if needbe, please explain your positions
i'm just curious.
I am a resident manager of a housing complex, that is I collect rent from tenants for a percentage, and maintain the grounds, arrange repairs etc. for a salary from the body corp. I currently have the business on the market and am planning to take up photography and digital imagery proffessionally on a freelance type basis. Maybe after a while I will set up my own gallery.
I worked for 32 years in a multinational in electricity components, the last ten years I was responsible for the publicity and documentation . Then I was proposed to be pre-pensioned on interesting conditions. Now I live like a retired person, lots of time, as says my sig. "Carpe diem".
Process controller on a Water Treatment works, where we treat around 500 million litres a day supplying many places including Manchester about 90 miles away.
let me see... im an accountant, nurse, vet, judge, referee, peacekeeper, house cleaner, babysitter, chauffer/taxi driver, cook, fashion consultant, counselor, what am I ?? yep a mother.. full time profession... lol.... J
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Well, currently I'm a jack of all trades.
Manager of a leather store; student in IT:Technical Programming; layout artist for a local paper and most recently I've started my own "web design company' (more of a joke, but I'll see if it goes anywhere).
What Jaqueline said so eloquently. ;)
My pre-training included Customer Service at Coca-Cola, Hospital clerk-all floors, and MANY additional side-hash-slinging jobs. Don't blame me, blame the cook! ;)-
Hubby is self-employed so Tracy, you are our worst nightmare! lol Stories indeed!
as i had suspected, the results of this inquisition have provided a good glimpse of who we are, and what influences we may have..
i am amazed at the simple diversity between us, and yet, we all have something in common, an appreciation for this thing we call Caedes.net
i may be a prepress technician now, but 4 months ago, i probably would have responded: Professional Pizza Monkey,
(i'm soo glad a hobby became my profession(after the pizza place))
first of all... I love pizza! I could probably work in a pizza place for years and never get sick of it :)
Back on topic though, I am an industrial engineer (officially graduated today, hooray!). I am still going to school though, to get a masters in management. While in school I am working as a CAD drafter for a land surveying company, and doing programming for decision support systems as well.
There are so many engineers and pre-engineers on the site.
I hate you all and now I'm going to have to change majors
jk
feels like i'm right at home, hee hee
Add another engineer... I have a BS with majors in Electrical Engineering and Computer & Systems Engineering, graduated last May. That's not to say that my (overly expensive) education is being put to good use while I sit at home looking for a job, though. Anyone with leads? :-p
I'm still a student. So I'm learning to be profession? Last year I did an education for IT-Manager. But the whole education and the whole school sucked! Now I'm beginning @ the education; 'Creative Designer'. I'll hope my caedes-career helped. I think it really does... Thanks to you folks.
Thanks again.
I'm a monitor tech/ward clerk in the ICU at a local hospital. I monitor the EKGs of all the patients along with the blood pressure, O2 saturization and any pressure lines they may have. I also do secratarial stuff like prepair and maintain charts, answer the phone, enter orders, page Drs, etc. Usually it's pretty interesting stuff, but I hope to go back to school soon to get an RN licence.
I create paltry images and attempt to pass them off has high quality for a living and upload them on a site called caedes.net. Ha ha ha! Oh the gullable people of this world! You should check it out, its funny!
Was a full time low voltage electrician, now part time, working my way into a fulltime position as photographer and digital ad and web graphics artist. Hoping to get fully out of the construction industry soon as possible, and move completely to the photography and graphics end. I'm getting too old for the construction deal I’m tired.
While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. --Dorothea Lange

I'm currently working in the hospitality field as a Concierge at a resort on Universal Orlando property. Very stressful, but fun and get to see the celebs sometimes :)
Well, my license is officially American Registry of Radiologic Technologust (ARRT), simply put, I am an X-Ray Technologist. I know all of your insides verrrrrrry well. I hung up my lead apron 9 years ago & since then I have practiced being a Domestic Goddess...you know, eating bon-bons & being fanned with palm leaves. lol...When I have spare time, I hang with the intellectuals @Caedes.net. I also earned my PhD in Jacquelyn's profession...a Mommy. I am now grandma to a whole bunch of wonderful angels who fill my arms with love :))
Professional Beingmyselfasanewhighschoolfreshmen or BMAHSF ;)
But seriously, I'm an aspiring professional singer/songwriter and I'm currently composing music with a friend for a song I wrote, but to have something to fall back on in case that dream doesn't become a reality, also hope eventually go to college for graphic design or something to do with designing (clothing, arcitechture, interior, ect.).
I am currently a student, planning to go on as a musician or music teahcer. My "day job" is that of a janitor. The job's actually quite easy and enjoyable, too bad I don't get a cool bright orange jump-suit... guess thats gonna have to come out of my paycheck! ;)
..janitor by day.. musician by night.. back in high school there was a janitor that did that as well.. numerous times during the day, you could easily catch him playing the mop-guitar and rockin out to his headphones.. i saw him play one night, they were pretty awesome.. i think a year ago, he quit his job and is touring full time now..
so, whozur, i commend you ;)
