After logging onto Caedes, my icon is gone! :-( "Where oh where has my little icon gone?" - I have also noticed that other icons that were animated are now still. [Apologies if this has already been discussed]. IS IT : a) my imagination b) my problem c) Could this be a setting on my computer?? Anyone else had this problem?
could be that your browser isnt loading anything but the first frame of graphics. The first frame of your icon is white, so it would appear missing. Pressing the stop button in IE or clicking a link would do this but I've never heard of it stopping randomely

Check your internet options under "Advanced -> Multimedia" (assuming you use explorer). There is an option "Play animations in web pages". Should be on by default. Otherwise you could try "Restore Defaults"...
Thank-you everyone for your suggestions. Noob - yes the first frame is white - so that does explain why it appears "missing". Sam - I did exactly as you suggested - and the button for the option "Play animations in web pages"- was ticked on, but I hit the restore defaults anyway. BJB - your candle isn't flickering, infact to me - no icon is animated. Thanks for the help - maybe its an IE glitch that will fix itself.

its not caedes, its a problem with her pc, maybe you should try a different browser, or try updating IE. IE is so hard to fix because of its integration with XP, bleh.
Hey everyone! "I SEE MOVING ICONS!!!" Thank-you everyone for your help - My computer crashed twice - and now has new memory - new hard drive - new xp Pro -and thank-you to someone special who knows how these things work - who ripped the guts out and put it back together!!! SO - Beware - I had all the anti-viral software - updated daily - didn't open suspicious email - generally very careful and aware - but something got in and destroyed my machine - so be careful!!
well I just read this thread and it worries me because I do not see mythica's icone nor bjb flashing candle!
Bizzar things to the dates under their icone says that they were posted on 08/21/04 and so on!!! Aren't we apirl 19th 2005??
let's hope that I haven't caught this virus thing! :0((!!
Vamoura: the reason that the dates under their icons say August 2004 is because that is when they were posted (this is an old thread).
As for a virus targetting animated gifs it is indeed silly, but also amusing and entirely desireable (I hate those animated icons). Any virus writers out there ready for the challenge?

personally it sounds like a ISP software thing...most systems such as AOL or Earthlink have accelerators which reduce the quality of picture downloads and gifs...perhaps this might be a good place to look?
