Ever see "the perfect shot", and have no camera in sight? Of course you have. It's happened to me, more times than I can count.
I've driven to work, and there's be pea-soup fog.. but only over grassy areas. You know, where that "perfect shot" would be... the tips of the high grass hauntingly poking their way through the mist. Camera? Nowhere nearby.
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
the day last summer that was on again off again overcast... just before sunset I was thinking of going out but when I looked at the sky I thought I still saw nothing but greyness and clouds... ten minutes later there occurred (according to everyone except me) the most intense rainbow which was visible all over the Cape.... ARRGGHHHH!!
I was 22, and had gone home to Hawaii for a visit. I went to a dive shop my dad used, at Pearl Harbor. A sub was deploying and the crew was on deck saluting with the flag waving high, passing the Arizona Memorial...it was the most amazing thing...I watched for about 5 minutes while they took down the flag went below and finally submerged just past the P.H. shallows. I didn't even own a crappy camera back then, and it was this moment in time when I decided I would ALWAYS have a camera on me even if it was just a crappy disposable one!!
Missed a beauty of a sunrise this morning driving to work -- bright, clear sky with clouds at the horizon ranging from fire orange to dusky purple, backlit pine tree line split left and right, green and gold bean field with poke plants w/berries, sumac saplings turning red and tall gold field grass in the foreground. I had my 5.1MP P&S, but was running late...
No wind, water like a mirror, the bridge a cross the water in full light at night so a perfect reflection and it would make a good nightshot but no camera *twice* with me..
