It simply mean that if you click "subscribe' Jennie, you will receive a notice under your 'jobs' that someone has posted a comment to that thread. When or if you tire of receiving notifications, you simply click 'unsunscribe'.

If you don't want to be notified when someone thanks you for a comment, you simply click 'unsubscribe' on your user profile page!!!

And no question is useless or makes you sound like a dope...others always benefit, they just haven't asked the question yet!

ok, so where exactly in "jobs" would you find reference to a specific comment which thanks you for your comment on their shot?

Jen, "jobs" is on the left side where your friends list is, and your personal messages. If you are 'subscribed' to a thread, it will show up as a 'Subscription". When you click on subscriptions, there will be 1 or 2 or a list & you will click each one to see what it is....

am i correct that these subscriptions and messages are not really that long list of messages that are found directly under those subscribe/unsubscribe words?

That long list of messages under the subscribe/unsubscribe words on your user profile are the people usually thanking you for your comments on their images.
