HDR and polarizing filters

i've decided that since so many of you have had such fine results with HDR that i would try to teach myself. pat andre was kind enough to tell me how to get the three shots. my questions are.......do you ever put a polarizing filter on the camera before you take the three shots? ....and.....should the shots be in RAW? thanks for your help! jen

not neccessary as you could end up burning away detail which is the opposite of what you (should) want with HDR and....
