There is a new dialogue feature that is available for us to use that is different than PMs.

The difference is that with a PM there is no way to track what you said or what the other person responded. In the dialogue feature, it keeps a running track that is visible to only you & the person you are corresponding with.

This is a private conversation between 2 people. It is not made public in any way.

If you click 'subscribe to this discussion' at the top, it simply means that you will be notified twice under 'personal messages'.

You will receive a one line notice that says:

You have a new message from _(insert name) about (insert topic)

I usually use Hi as a topic or something equally generic. :o)

The line "you have a new message" is a hyperlink and all you have to do is click it to see your message.

This is posted to dispel any fears that the dialogue is a public discussion. That simply is not true per *caedes. I use the feature all the time!
