< ....There is no promise that we will keep every image that is uploaded to the site.
We try to keep every image for a minimum one month.
If an image has been on the site for more than a month, we will make a decision on whether or not to keep it.
The objective being to highlight the best images that are uploaded and to make room on the server for new images. If we did not do this the good images would be too difficult to find and the server would be too expensive for us to afford....>
I read the faq thanks, and i understand that. So that means if my uploads last the month they will be moved from the new images gallery to the normal photography > macro gallery?
"So that means if my uploads last the month they will be moved from the new images gallery to the normal photography > macro gallery? "
from the FAQ:
"There is no promise that we will keep every image that is uploaded to the site. We try to keep every image for a minimum one month. "
Obviously were mixing up questions, and sorry for not being clear enough. I understand that not every image is kept for more than a month. Right now my newly uploaded images are currently in the New images gallery. And there is another Photography > Macro Gallery and my question is if the mod keep my pictures, how long does it take for the images to transer from the New image galleries, where all uploads go, to the other Photography . macro gallery that is under Photography and not new images. Maby i'm just not understanding something.
all images stay in the new images gallery for about a month. then if a mod thinks its good enough it will be moved to the permanent ie. photography>macro gallery. otherwise it will be deleted
Some images will stay in new images longer than a month (sometimes much longer :p) before they are deleted
Some images will stay in the new images shorter than a month before they are moved to the permanent galleries
Its all the call of the mods, thats the important part
The deletion policy is sort of under long-term review at the moment. Caedes is also going to develop some systems that are going to make moving images to the permenant galleries easier for us; so during the past few months less images have been deleted and moved than usual, hence the glut of images in the "New" gallery".
