While working on a montage/collage or photo project, have you ever found yourself wanting a specific kind of photo or abstract image that you don't have, in order to finish your project? Had you turned to the Internet for a long drawn out search for either a royalty free image or free stock image, only to come up empty handed? Leaving you to rethink your project and settle with something you already have on hand?
Or, have you ever wanted a specific subject for use as a desktop wallpaper, that is not currently in the galleries on Caedes? A picture of a particular classic car, a historical building, mountain range.... Please tell us and perhaps someone can capture it and upload it for all to enjoy!
I'd like to propose that anyone in either situation turn to this thread for such requests. With regular use, I believe it will turn into an excellent resource for such needs.
This is an interesting idea... it could be a source of inspiration! I have no ghost orchids though -- sorry. :-) (Listens worriedly for the sound of clanking chains and dragging roots).
I think this is a GREAT idea, Lori, and do hope it will become a frequently used resource...good for the seeker of images and also those of us who could use a little added inspiration...sorry, no ghost orchids but will make a point of finding out more about them and if I find one to capture you'll be the first to know.
Hmmmm I'm not sure about that... there are plenty of sites for stock photographs... I think that might be moving a step too far away from the sites "core values" myself...
I am just envisioning something along the lines of, "Why was my stock photo of a dog/cat/remote control/bowl of cereal/toilet seat rejected??? Just because it had bad lighting and completely blended into the background rendering it completely useless as a stock photo... I haven't read any of the 200 posts on the discussion board about what constitutes a good stock photo so how am I to know better..."
I think stock photos would require a lot more quality control than wallpaper type stuff, but it is also a lot more vulnerable to snapshot type photos (since you can argue that a stock photo could be of just about anything) which sounds like a deadly combination to me. Also it would require extra administration to set up the stock photo section and move images between the "normal" galleries and there (also I wonder how much it would actually be utilized? At least in the short term)
On the plus side though... we might end up with some of these gems... might just make it worthwhile...

And, I will start out with my own request....
