I have introduced image tagging in order to make it easier for the community to organize groups of images together. We will be replacing the "Your Community" galleries with this page: community tagging. Please see about tagging for more information.
Since this will replace the "Your Community" galleries, I will need anyone with an image located there to move them to a more appropriate gallery. Otherwise, the mods will eventually move all the images out of "Your Community".
So if I have this right, eventually there will be a link to this page on the left; the images will still appear in "New images" until the thirty days are up but will simultaneously appear on the "Your community" page; and we can also promote the best images to the main galleries but they will also continue to appear in "Your community". Correct?
Cool compromise. The galleries regain some higher level of quality, without the images that some place in high regard (the Verena memorials, for example) getting tanked for good.
I don't know Lori, but if you have not read it this seems to clarify it some. about tagging
@Caedes
This is not typical of tagging on other sites. People not knowing the purpose of "Tagging" here are creating many sub galleries with one image each. Perhaps the tagging option should be prefaced with a question. "Does this image also belong in one of the Your Community Galleries? Enter gallery name here or create a new one." This would eliminate the confusion or ignorance of anyone not aware of the purpose. Also adding the link to about tagging next to the entry box may help a little. On most sites tagging is done with a list of key words that aid in searching for a color or place or such. The new gallery called vinegreenpumpkinfallsunlightspiralfuzzy is an example of this confusion. Eight key words. Surely not intended to become a gallery.
I would not have had a clue if I did not read the forums regularly. I'm not entirely sure I have a clue now.
Of course if I am just not getting it, some one please educate me. :o)
People aren't going to remember the things you do. They're going to remember how you made people feel. Be kind, gracious, and appreciative.
