If there's a moderator online when you post, it takes very little time. Right now, for instance, there are none logged in. You can tell the moderators by glancing at the names of Users Online and looking for a name with a +sign in front of it. (I think that's right - I'm sorta new, myself.)
Gosh, everybody wants to be Image Mods. I can visualise people raising their hands in class: "Me! Me! Please, Sir!". Ha ha ;-)
Only kidding, you guys. Some more mods may be good, but (and this is an honest question, I am not being sarcastic) what do image mods do exactly? Just stick the images in the galleries? Do they ever delete an image immediately because it is so bad, or offensive? I'm curious.
Going back to jono00's comment, I am in the UK and depending when you log on, there do seem to be times when there are no mods and then other times there can be a multitude. I would certainly consider being a mod myself, but there are probably more deserving users than me. I guess it all depends on what you look for in a mod, and how many you need (too many cooks and all that...)
Having said all that about the UK, as jono00 mentioned, it has occurred to me as I type that Pierre is an image mod and he is in Belgium and also (I think - haven't checked) Samarn, who is somewhere in Scandanavia, so they should be more or less on the same timescale.

Just to add to my long-winded post above, I have been on the site for a few hours this morning and not seen a single mod (unless they logged on and off very quickly, but I don't think so because the new images aren't updating). Anyway, I think a few more mods would not be a bad thing and, selfishly, I would like to see another one or two in the UK/European timezones (which would include me of course! :-) he he!)
Seriously, though, I don't know what the geographic spread of image mods looks like. Maybe we need to consider this. Is it important?

I might look at the time people are usually online since some people (college students come to mind) are online at all hours of the night, and other people are only on during the day. What's more important is the maturity level and an eye for good artistic work.
...lol.. OK im a former UNI fine art..(just had my graduation the other day) i live in the UK and my comp is up and running and broadband connected to the net at all times of the day.. and im usually sat infront of it doing nothing much. etc etc... normally 12pm GMT to about 4am GMT... and sometimes i make some nice wallpapers.. can i be an image mod too .... please sir.... lmao! ;)
Once again I am logged on and there are no mods. However, we need to be realistic: how long should it reasonably take for an image to be posted?
As long as they are getting done within a few hours, that doesn't seem too bad. I agree with Caedes, though: mods need to be mature (thick-skinned as well, probably).
Just out of interest, who are all of the mods? - some of them I see very rarely and others often, so I am not sure how many there are.

A few more, sure, but 8-9 would be more than doubling the current numbers.
A list, from the best of my recollection: (please correct me if wrong)
Administrator - caedes
Moderator - xentrik
ImageMod - cc_Beowulf, WinterNight, ppigeon, samarn, tbob, bunyip.
If I do choose a new ImageMod, I can assure you it won't have anything to do with posts to this thread. If you want to make an impression on me then upload some really bad-ass art and make meaningful comments on other's work.
Hmmm...this topic is still going. I have to agree with Caedes: If a new image mod is needed it should not be determined from anything on this thread (including anything I say).
