Couple of items from that list stand out in my mind:
"6.) Shoot like you don't have Photoshop"
"8.) Read the boring manual"
On the note of number eight, believe most would be surprised at what is literally at hand in terms of information and insight ... towards the ends of taking better photos, et al.
If.. they took some time to delve into their camera's manuals.

I must admit to never having read the manual for my camera. I just dove in and learned by trial and error. There's probably lots of functionality I'm missing out on. Note to self: read manual! ;)
"Take pictures of ugly things." I do that all the time, and they look no better. :-)
I find it hard to remember my manual too. Sometimes, though, I keep thinking "I know there's a button to change the main focus point, though it doesn't appear to be THAT one" (switches timer on and off). And when it annoys me enough, and I have to look it up enough, I start to find the right button on my second or third go. :-)
Maybe we should try learning the camera's symbol chart off by heart.
Reading the boring manual is a good good one, but to remember all that important stuff that's the point, I often stand with my camera in my hand and think..damn, have been reading it, but how and what!!! The best thing is to practice and to find out yourself...in my humble opinion...
For me number 10 is the best...
