Has any one had problems with IS being blocked by their AV?
I placed a link to any original photo on one of my posts here, using ImageShack as hoster. A member received a warning message when they clicked it saying the site had malicious content and a known threat.
I have removed the link and will use another hosting site in future if IS is at fault.
I like IS for its instant desktop uploader but would rather be sure than sorry.

I have an account with IS, so I just visited the site with Firefox and got no warnings from WOT or my Avast, nor have I heard of anyone else having any problems. :)

Kia Ora Lyn: I had no problems visiting Image Shack. I tried several different approaches to access the site, all with no problems. May I suggest the member who sent you the note, readjust the settings on their virus protection program. There are many reasons the program may have given an alarm for a false hit. I really doubt you have much to worry about. I will check again, and search for filed complaints against the site. If I find any, I will let you know ASAP>

Kia Ora Lyn: (I hope I spelled that right)
the results of my search:
Nov 5th 2012:
On Sunday, a hacker group called HTP claimed to have compromised Web servers, MySQL databases, routers and management servers used by the ImageShack and yfrog image hosting services. "
"On Sunday, hackers associated with the Anonymous hacktivist collective compromised and defaced various websites including several NBC websites, a Lady Gaga fan site called Gaga Daily and several Australian websites.

On Monday, the group also claimed to have hacked PayPal and published user account information allegedly stolen from the website's database in a document hosted on privatepaste.com. The document has since been removed."

I think - NO! I am sure that the member who warned you about this site, as malicious content, had a High setting on their virus protection, and since the verification certificate for IS has been changed o reflect improvements in their security system, it triggered an alarm in a sensitive virus setting. May I suggest they accept the new certificate, if they are comfortable with it.It always better to be sure than sorry.

Thanks for response folks.
Both I and the other member thought the same - over vigilant AV settings, but I wanted to be sure.
I have relied on Image Shack for a long time and have always found it reliable and safe.
Appreciate your help and I will direct the other member to your suggestion Moose.
