This new gallery consists of images that we have selected to represent the "best of the best" from the main galleries. Since we have been working our way backwards with the galleries sorted by date, the gallery consists of the older images on the site at the moment; hopefully the selection process will be ongoing and newer images will be added later (although it has been a very slow process so far). Hope you agree with most of our choices and enjoy!
I think your choices are all exceptional images and will inspire today's artists. Significant that most of the names will be unknown to today's members but that will (perhaps) change as you work your way through - just 9 more years sift through (!!) Could you translate the Gallery title? I am guessing it means Choice of the Praetors(?)
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
So far all of the Praetor's Choices are drop-dead gorgeous. Superb examples for anyone to learn from. Including me. When I was new to Caedes the power of example was a big draw. I imitated and experimented and eventually got better. Still a ways to go, but I'm grateful to this site for that opportunity.
Sounds like some strange Latin-like dialect spoken in the medieval Balearics. In the Classical translation we were taught at Winchester it would be "praetoris arbitrium".

(Just thought if images are being worked through chronologically, with 9 years still to go and two weeks since the first batch posted many of us will be pushing up daisies before the Praetori Arbitrio is up to date)

Agree with Mimi - suggestions would not really help speed anything along. We need to work through a set number of images and vote on them before moving on to the next set, so suggesting images that we would not be voting on for months wouldn't be of any assistance (no more than if I were to go through now and pick out some of my favorite images to vote on when the time comes).
FYI it is a slow process, but just because it may appear sometimes like nothing is happening does not mean that is the case; we just finished going through one set and there were not enough votes for any images to be promoted, so now we move on to the next...
Thanks for the explanation. I was not meaning to suggest nothing was happening. Keep up the good work. I for one look forward to seeing some more selections.
