PhotoShop Trouble

Ok...I'm having a bit of minor trouble with a certain aspect of PS7...
Every time I want to change the colour I'm using and double click on my current colour to bring up the colour chooser window, it appears off the screen in the top right-hand corner, which means I can't do anything with it because all the controls are hidden off screen and there's no way of pulling the box back down...also, every time I bring up the window, it moves even further off the screen...this is really irritating me at the moment because I use the colour chooser a lot...I've already tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it but nothing changed...does anyone have any ideas? :*(

Any help would be deeply appreciated...
Thanks,
Fae x

I don't know how it works on PC's but when I lose a window like that, I change my resolution to display everything smaller, open whatever and minimize the window, then change the resolution back.

you could try ditching your preferences file

If you almost got it, can you go even smaller or have you gone as small as you can go? ;(

Ok...erm...how do you ditch a preferences file? I went onto preferences but it had nothing that would help...

no i mean the actual preference file stored on the computer - if your on a MAC running OSX this will be a file with .plist as its name extension - just search your hard drive for files with .plist and delete the one that corresponds to adobe or photoshop. cant help you if its windows version as I dont know where windows stores its prefs files...

Did you try minimizing the entire PS window or just the color chooser window?

If Darryl's suggestion doesn't work...You should restore your computer to a date prior to your little problem. That should do the trick! Good luck. Randy

The next time something like this happens you might try to reset the workspace.

Ah PS what a grand and screwed up program.

You can bring anything up in the window options section. If this does not work go in to preferances and reset defults and then set every thing back upt he way you want. You can also drag and drop all window up into the upper tool bar. If the problm is that you can't see the tool bar then you need to go to view and select the vie tool bar. you should then be able to see everything.

You must have not done it correctly, The way I do it is I grab the computer and throw it out the window or nearest exit.Walla workspace reset.

It's all down to Adobe's ongoing determination to add new functions and hide all the ones you use normally :-)
