After reading about "snapshot" fractals here at the discussion board, I have decided to do a little experiment. I would like people to guess which of my images are snapshot fractals. And by "snapshot" I mean all I did was let the computer create a random batch, then rendered a few of them. Please be extremely, brutally honest. I promise I will not be offended by anything you say. Feel free to back up your guesses with reasons. Here is a link to my gallery : Click Here.
What's it really matter? If the person is happy with the image then it's done. I hardly ever use another program to make mine therefore 98% of mine are "snapshot fractals".
I've looked at your gallery and I've use the program that wasused to make those. Just about all of them could have been rendered without help from secondary manipulation. Not to take away from your work. I really liked what I saw. I'm not near as adept at it as you are :-)
I guess I don't understand why it is neccessary to further manipulate an image that one is already pleased with. :-D
Oh for Pete's sake, puh-leeeese! ENOUGH about "snapshot fractals," already! I know of only one other poster so obsessed with this subject and I haven't seen him lately. Looks like you (coincidentally) are trying to pick up where he left off. This subject has been beat to death. Let it go - -PLEASE....

Wendy, he isn't bringing up the same topic again, I've just looked at it and his point for this conversation is completely different, he is asking which of his images is a Snapshot Fractal, he is talking about it again.
Excuse me? Just why do you think that he wants people to try to pick out "snapshot fractals" from his gallery? It's the same subject, Andrew. Just a slightly different angle to it. But it's not hard to see where it will end up...

lol...From what I've seen all UnknownClone's gallery looks to be good work. If I was forced to guess I'd say "Sound Spiral " was the one not reworked in a second program. Pretty dang cool desktop it makes tho :-)
It might be Wen that UnknownClone is demenstratring that it is not always needed to have a good image to run then throuh other programs. That was my original take on the subject anyway.
oll..now I'm all courious..tell me and 1,000 virgins will be yours in the afterlife..well..999..I was lonely ok!??! ..he heh
well, personally, I think they all look as though they've had no secondary work ... augmenting brightness, etc does not really qualify as postwork. You've got a few 'gaseous' clouds and a couple others
what did I win?
edit: .. As Lou mentioned .. If you are happy with your presentation then that's all that really matters .. if it pleases others, (as they seem to, based on comments) then that's icing on the cake
As I mentioned elsewhere .. everything in my gallery prior to Hearts-a-Fire is straight out of the apophysis kiln ... just use your imagination to see the ones that have been "Stolen from the Louvre" .. (ie .. deleted, kidnapped, snookered, slipped on a banana peel and broke their coccyx bone)
Stop trying to figure out who's talented and who's not, and just take a shot at it, okay? Do some art. Tell anybody who asks that I said it was all right.

To annoy you. Just kidding.
I did it just to see if people could actually decipher between a fractal that was created by a human, or randomly generated by a computer program.
