Another great and free java based program on the web is SkyviewCafe. I believe it is skyviewcafe.com, but you can easily google for it. It gives up to the minute placement of the stars, planets, etc from a view of where YOU are. It has other nifty info as well. Just play around with all the tabs and have fun.

And if you want some more expensive software to interact with your telescope as well, then the Starry Night software packages are excellent too.
