From Rembrandt to Picasso . . . from Ralph Eugene Meatyard to Ansel Adams . . . Does anyone have a particular artist that inspires their work? I thought it would be neat to compare artist's work against their idol's.

I’m definitely an 'old masters' fan mostly Caravaggio and some Rembrandt work - whether that’s any kind of insight into how it shapes my own style I don’t know....

A few years ago, Monet was for me a real source of inspiration... (example)

Some of my inspirations were Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Margaret Bourke-White and Richard Avedon. I've learned a little bit from all of the old masters of photography and have tried to emulate their style in some of my images. There come a time when you must create your own style.

No image should ever be given a zero. You are insulting the efforts of people trying to learn. Mr. Russ

I think Pierre, Darryl, Mike Snowden, and a few more are my big inspirations. Them and my wife who keeps lying to me about how much she likes my stuff.

Yes, Russ. Richard Avedon, certainly a great photographer. I remember his publication called "Portraits" in the seventies. Don't forget Henri Cartier-Bresson... :-)
