PLEASE HELP!
I've had this vintage Marantz 2230 amp for a long time now. But recently it's been giving me problems. It makes like staticy popping sounds, sort of like a record player. If anyone knows a likly cure for this please help.

Dude that really sucks. I'm sure that you paid a whole lot for it since I was shopping around for the same thing just a few months ago. The only way I can see it getting fixed is if you take it to a good electronics repairman. Often items like this can't be repaired because the repair cost would exceed the price of a new one, but I think that's probably not the case for this item.

On second thought it might just need a good cleaning

You can try compressed air. Just be carefull not to blow any electrical components off the board. ;-)
